March 2023 Update
- Progress on the “Assembly Wing” of the new school continues along at a positive clip! We remain on track and are excited to open this phase in full for the start of the 2023 school year.
- For an inside look at the construction of our new gym, library, music rooms and cafeteria, take a look at the images in this document.
- In the final pages of this PDF, you’ll see some of the efforts to prepare the grounds for the playground and field space to come!
December 2022 Update
- The “assembly wing,” which will house the school’s cafeteria, gym, library, music suite, along with new playground and parking, continues to be on schedule for completion next year.
- We are fortunate to see much of the steel framing of the new assembly wing up and in place, prior to the ground freezing this winter! The structure will be roofed out in the coming days which will allow the construction team the canopy necessary to begin interior efforts.
- Over the break, our construction team will also be working diligently on the “punch list” of repairs and final touches for this academic wing!
- Among the items completed over the break, we will install our custom wrap-around mural for the main stairwell. Below is a flattened render of the image which will turn into a wrapped wall-covering for all to enjoy!
- Please check out our livestream / time-lapse camera that has tracked the project over the years here.
November 2022 Update
- The legacy facility is now completely removed with much of the building material repurposed for other construction projects in different states.
- Phase 2 of construction focuses on the “assembly wing,” which will house the school’s cafeteria, gym, library, music suite, as well as the new playground and parking area
- The foundation for the assembly wing is now complete and all of the steel for the building will arrive on site starting Monday, November 7.
- We are still on track for opening the assembly wing and completing the total Ox Ridge building project for the opening of the 2023 school year.
May 2021 Update
- On Saturday, May 22, 2021, the Ox Ridge Building Committee hosted a small ceremony to mark the project being underway. Channel 79 News covered the event (click here to watch). Speakers were Superintendent Alan Addley, Principal Luke Forshaw, Board of Ed. Vice-Chairperson Deb Ritchie, Selectman and ORBC Co-Chairman Kip Koons, First Selectman Jayme Stevenson, State Representative Terrie Wood, and Senator Bob Duff. Check us out on social media for photos from the event. You will note the great banner made by our 5th graders hanging on the construction fence and see some of our students (and one future student) getting into the act on the future site of our new school!
